It’s no secret that if you’ve got cargo that needs ferrying across the South, you wanna use The Sprawl Courier Co. And it’s no secret that if you wanna coordinate anything with TSCC, you go to The Roadhouse - a sprawling complex that’s one part truck stop, one part tavern. Rumour also has it that there’s more to it than that - if you’re deemed important enough to be ushered into the back rooms. Not a lot of people are. TSCC own the place and keep it running, just as happy to take your chips for pouring a cold pint as they are for transport your goods.
It’s known that the head of TSCC is someone known simply as “X”. Wild theories abound as to who X actually is, but if anyone actually knows they’ve been sworn to silence. The spectrum of speculation ranges from thinking X is a 7 foot tall African American man with biceps the size of tree trunks, to a 13 year old girl wise beyond her years. Some even suggest there actually isn’t an X, that TSCC is run by committee with no central leader.
Either way, TSCC have had something of a monopoly on courier routes heading southward, gaining a well-deserved reputation for being reliable, fair, and not afraid to take on the most difficult jobs. They are the big players in the land, and X (if there is an X) is sitting quite comfortably at the head. But things started to change a few years ago. TSCC started charging more - a lot more. And their service got a bit sloppy too. Something was different. The monopoly remains, and The Roadhouse is still where you go to talk biz, but it’s clear TSCC isn’t quite the well-oiled machine it was.
OOC: If you think you’d have had dealings with TSCC, or X (if there IS an X), drop me a message and I’ll give you some info that suits your specific relationship with TSCC.
