Wellington LARP meetup - notes

Hey all,

We had a good turnout at our meeting on Sunday and have come up with an initial plan of action for the next 12 months or so.

Our initial priorities include:

- Book in dates and start planning for/organising a series of LARPS. Summary to come.
- Create a WellingtonLARPS incorporated society that'll work as a regional branch of nzLARPS
- Help create a national LARP/RPG/Event calendar to help avoid schedule conflicts
- Gather more feedback from the community about what games they want to see run
- Begin to build a database of venues, information for new players, information on how to run games, etc...
- Experiment with applying for funding through assorted grants

Our biggest aim is to keep the games running regularly enough to keep interest piqued and I think it's fair to say with the games we've got planned there should hopefully be something for everyone.

We'll continue to use Diatribe as our main sounding board, so keep your eyes trained here for further developments. If you're keen to get involved in any way shape or form, or have questions, just send me a message via here or at my username at gmail.

Sounds great. If you want to use the NZLARPS website for hosting to centralise things, I'm sure that can be sorted. It already has a number of areas that various groups can edit via FTP, and it would be cool to get an editable national events calendar integrated into it. That's something we've been meaning to get to for a while.

Hey also, if you wanted a private forum on Diatribe for the Wellington branch then the admins can set one up.

We'd love a Wellington area on Diatribe and all the other fancy you mentioned. We're still in the formulating plan but we'll be in touch when we have a more concrete idea of what we need.
